Easy Rider Sells for $1.35 Million!
The iconic motorcycle from the 1969 Peter Fonda movie Easy Rider has become the most expensive motorcycle in the world, selling at auction for $1.35 million, or $1.6 million including auction fees! Fonda apparently contested the authenticity of the bike, which was restored by Dan Haggerty and sold to Michael Eisenberg. Eisenberg also has a letter of authenticity from the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa stating this is the only surviving “Captain America” bike in existence.

Fonda contested the authenticity? Why? @pixiedust

@greggr I think because there were so many copies of the same bike used on set and most of them were destroyed during filming.
