Great realistic fiction about a high school girl who is focused on track as a way to a college scholarship. A horrific accident on the way to a meet changes her life forever. As an amputee, she returns to school in a wheelchair, and finds herself in the back of the room with a student with cerebral palsy. This student, who Jessica has ignored prior to losing her leg, becomes a friend, and shows Jessica a path to a running future, and to hope. Every student who reads this begs me to add it to my "Books That Will Make You Cry" list. Be warned! Appropriate for grades 6 and up.
This is a must read; I know my library initially bought this book for our diversity awareness week, but it's remained popular even after then.
this sounds really interesting, I remember one of my teachers talking about it actually. I'll have to ask about it c:
Sounds like a really moving story, even I want to read it!
