Actor Gerard Parkes, best known for his role as Doc on Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock, passed away this past weekend after his 90th birthday. Parks was born in 1924 in Dublin, Ireland and began acting on stage in the 1940s. He transitions to screen acting and moved to Canada in 1956 and was the first person to receive the Best Actor award from the Canadian Screen Awards for his role in Isabel, 1968. He also played a bar owner in the 1999 film The Boondock Saints, as well as numerous other radio and television roles.
@iluvdurian31 I remember watching Fraggle Rock when I was growing up. It's very sad to see him go, but he did have a good long life!
When I was younger, my other cousin would come over to our house with her Fraggle Rock video tapes. Those were our childhood years. It's sad to see him go, but it's life!
