One of my korean friend visited Indonesia and I asked her to try es cendol, one of the famous dessert/beverage in Indonesia. She said it looks disgusting like green worms so she couldn't eat it :( The dessert's basic ingredients are coconut milk, a worm-like jelly made from rice flour with green food coloring (usually derived from the pandan leaf), shaved ice and palm sugar. Other ingredients such as red beans, glutinous rice, grass jelly, creamed corn, might also be included. Es cendol is also popular in other countries such as Malaysia, Myanmar (where it is known as Mont let saung), Singapore, Vietnam, and Southern Thailand, where it is called lortchorng singapore ลอดช่องสิงคโปร์). When you visit Indonesia, make sure you try es cendol :) It is super tasty!
