Waking up is hard enough as it is, but waking up to hit the gym is another battle all together. Here are a few of my tips for preparing yourself for a great morning routine! Skip the morning scavenger hunt: Don't spend your morning looking for your sneakers or your headphones - be ready the second you wake up! Lay out your closes, shoes, and other items the night before in order to jump right out of bed. I often sleep in my workout outfit :) Eat right: Since working out on an empty stomach isn't great for your metabolism or your energy levels, premake a little morning snack and keep it in the fridge so you can quickly grab it while getting ready. Early to bed: Working out when you're tired is no fun, make sure you go to bed at a decent hour. If you're seriously too tired, don't push yourself too hard to workout, your body genuinely might need the rest. Pencil it in: Plan your workout with someone, and have them hold you accountable. Meet your friend at the gym or plan to power-walk to coffee! Post-workout treat: Plan a special breakfast to eat after your workout as a reward for your efforts.
