الشمر Fennel :يعـرف بالسنـوت والشمار الحلو. والشمـر عشب يبلغ ارتفاعه 120 سم، ساقه مبروم ومضلـع، وأوراقه دقيقـة. أزهار النبـات صغيرة صفراء بمجموعات مغزلية (أكباش)، توجد على هيئة أو شكل مظلة، أما ثمارها التي يعرفهـا الناس بالبذور، فتشبه بذور الكمون، عليها خطوط مضلعة سمراء، وهي تدل على نضج الثمرة. يعرف النبات علمياً باسم Foeniculum vulgare. الموطن الأصلي للشمر:  منطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط، ويزرع اليوم في كل أنحاء العالم، وتجمع الثمار في فصل الخريف. الجزء المستخدم من النبات البذور (الثمار)، والزيت العطري والجذور والأوراق. المحتويات الكيميائية : يحتـوي الشمـرعلـى زيـت طيـار، وأهـم محتويات الزيت الطيار مركـب الأنيثـول Anethol والفنشون Fenchon والمثيل تشـا فيـكـول وفلافونديات وكومارينات، الذي يشمل البيرغبتين وكذلك يحتوي النبات ستيرولات. الاستعمالات العلاجية للشمر : في الطب القديم : استخدم الشمر من عهد الفراعنـة، حيث كان يسمـى باللغة الفرعونيـة شمـارى، وقد عثر علماء الآثار على حبوب الشمري مقابر بـن حسن ودهشور، بينما ورد في بردية هاريس الطبية تحت اسم شامارون.وهناك وصفات فرعونية للشمر لعلاج حالات انتفاخ المعدة وكثرة الغازات، ويدخل ضمن عدة وصفات لعلاج نزلات البرد وتسكين الآلام، ويستعمل زيته في صناعة العطـور وبعض الدهانات الطبيـة أيضاً؛ كما عد بعض المؤلفين القدامى الشمار علاجاً للدغة الأفعى؛ وفي القرون الوسطى عد النبات علاجاً للسحر؛ الاستخدامات العلاجية للشمر: في الطب القديم: تم استخدام الشمر من زمن الفرعون ، حيث كان يطلق عليه الفرعون الشمري، ووجد علماء الآثارفي قبور الفراعنة أثرا له، بينما سميت ورقة هاريس الطبية شامارون. هناك وصفات فرعونية للشمر لعلاج حالات انتفاخ المعدة والغازات المتعددة؛ يتم تضمينه في العديد من الوصفات لعلاج نزلات البرد وتخفيف الآلام؛ يستخدم زيته في صناعة العطور وبعض الدهانات الطبية أيضا؛ أعد بعض المؤلفين القدامى أيضا علاجا لدغة الثعابين؛ وفي العصور الوسطى يعد النبات كعلاج للسحر؛ في الطب الحديث: مصنوع منه مدر للبول ومضاد للالتهابات. على غرار اليانسون والتتبيلة الكروية يصنع مكون من الشمرممتاز لإنشاء الهضم وتقليل تمدد البطن. تفيد الثمار في علاج حصوات الكلى. عندما تمتزج مع المطهرات الكحولية مثل عنب الدب، يصبح علاجا فعالا لالتهاب المثانة. يمكن أن تؤخذ نقع البذور كسائل غرغرة لالتهاب الحلق. الشمر آمن جدا للأطفال، ويمكن إعطاؤه كنقيع أو نخب للأطفال. يمكن إعطاؤه كمنقوع أو شراب للتسكين المغص والمؤلم عند الرضع. الشمر يزيد أيضا من توليد الحليب. يستخدم العشب أيضا غسول العين المتقرحة، وكذلك التهاب الملتحمة. بذور الشمر لها أيضا سمعة قديمة لفقدان الوزن. استخدام بذور الشمر المغلية بمعدل ملء ملعقة في ملء كوب من الماء وغليها وتركها لمدة عشر دقائق، ثم تصفى وتشرب بمعدل 3 مرات يوميا للمغص والقيء وغازات المعدة. - يستخدم حشوة ملعقة صغيرة بعد غليها لمدة 5 دقائق مع ملء كوب من الماء، ثم تبريدها وتصريفها وشربها بمعدل مرتين يوميا لعسر الهضم والحيض والتهابات الكلى والمسالك البولية. - ملء 1 ملعقة كبيرة من بذور الشمر مع كوب من الماء المغلي مرتين في اليوم في الصباح وفي المساء ، لحالات الاضطرابات الهضمية والإمساك والصرع. سيتم الآن استخدام بذور الشمر المغلي في النمسا كمشروب للأطفال عن طريق ملء ملعقة صغيرة من مسحوق الشمر في كوب من الماء المغلي وتركه لمدة 10 دقائق ، ثم تصفيته وشربه مهدئا والنوم للأطفال ؛ - يجب استخدام مزيج من كميات متساوية من الشمر والشريان السباتي لتهدئة الأعصاب والتنفس ؛ - استخدام غرغرة الشمر المغلي لالتهابات الفم واللثة. تستخدم دمامل الشمر كحقنة شرجية لحالات المغص المعوية للأطفال. - تستخدم أوراق الشمر الطازجة بعد الغليان في الماء ككمادات أو تلويث لحالات الالتهابات التناسلية. https://www.atebelarabi.com/2023/01/20-therapeutic-benefits-for-fennel.html
