Director Kameron Gates of Portland's HouseSpecial studio collective has what could be considered a pretty successful directing career. He's done commercial work for everyone from Target to Apple, working with anyone from Fred Armisen to a CGI King Kong. However, nothing quite captures Gates' spirit for perfectly executed, quick humor like his independently released minute animation, "A Tale of Momentum & Inertia", which has been making the film festival rounds of late and picking up some pretty impressive awards on the way, including the 2014 Oregon Independent Film Festival's Best Animation title. "A Tale of Momentum & Inertia" is a beautifully computer animated story of a rock giant who (quite literally) has the fate of a small mountainside village in his hands.
