With winter on its way, I can already feel my skin drying. Rather than spending money on lotions and hand creams, I decided to focus on natural remedies this year. I have found four natural cures to dry skin, but if you know any more, please share!! - Organic Extra-Virgin Olive Oil For natural moisture, rub on some olive oil! This includes your cuticles, elbows, hands, and even hair. EVO is an amazing natural helper for nasty dry winter skin. - Greek Yogurt Using Greek yogurt as a face or body wash is actually a great way to exfoliate. Although there are also no scrubbing granules, so this is an ideal exfoliant for sensitive skin. - Honey Apply a little organic honey in the evening and wake up to smooth, yummy lips. This trick also works to soothe cracked heels and rough elbows. - Vitamin C Vitamin C naturally feeds your skin from inside and makes it less prone to dryness. Try adding some organic dark chocolate, salmon, oranges, mango, and carrots to your diet!
Back in the days when I was in my cosmetology class, we used olive oil for hot oil shampoo because of its many benefits to the scalp and hair. I use the extra virgin when i do it. Till this day I never see any breakage of my hair ( knock on wood, lol ) and I always get compliments of having a silky shiny hair.
My mom swears by coconut oil for healthier scalp and hair! It has lots of therapeutic uses.
I've been meaning to try the olive oil trick!! @galinda!
Even encorporating these into your diet will help with dry skin! You don't necessarily need to rub these on your body :)
Greek yogurt as an exfoliant? Wow, I would've never expected that.
