A few weeks ago Kenyan cyclist John Muya Njoroge was involved in an head on collision with a car at the Tour of Matabungkay. Njoroge was brought to the hospital almost immediately but his injuries were too severe that he died later in the hospital. To honor Njoroge the Kenyan Riders team leaded the non-competitive peloton as a sign of respect for the fallen athlete. Njoroge leaves behind a wife and a baby son, who will be looked after by the team as they recover from their loss.
