Last week, I posted a video all about how to create your own canvas at home. (For reference, you can easily find it in my Art Students Tips & Tricks collection.) Today, I've decided to share with you the very next step. Once you're done actually creating the canvas, you need to prepare your canvas for painting with Gesso primer. If you've already made your canvas, you should notice it isn't very firm or workable. Using layers of Gesso and sanding your canvas between steps is an efficient way to get your homemade canvas firmer and ready for painting. For consistency's sake, I've used a tutorial from YouTuber 'artist rage', who also made the last video I posted. If you have any questions during any steps of your canvas making, feel free to shoot me a message!
