Cocoon is a smart home security device that detects intruders in your home by using infrasonic sound. It is self alarming (using your phone's location to know when you are away from your home), it learns your schedule to protect you while you sleep, has an HD camera and night vision lens for HQ streaming/recording, a HQ microphone, motion detector, and even has sensors to detect activity in different rooms. They promise you privacy with data encryption and decryption as well. *phew* It just launched this October and should be shipped out later in 2015. You can check out the Indiegogo campaign at You can get the earlybird deal starting at $249 USD. This looks so cool, but feels a little Big Brother to me. Would you get this?
@TechAtHeart @greggr Maybe it's one of those "things I would try if someone handed it to me but I don't really need" kind of items
@hikaymm very true, thinking positive is a good idea haha @greggr my thoughts too, seems unnecessary to me at the moment but it would be nice to have!
I think I can handle my home's safety without something like this, though it's features are tempting enough to be curious...
I'm thinking its a little too "big brother" as well, but honestly, what tech device isn't these days? We want everything to understand our movements and schedules so that it doesnt' get in our way, but we don't want to feel like we're being watched. My sense is we can't have both, and since we can't, we might as well enjoy the conveniences like this guy!
