NPR 'Car Talk' Co-Host Dies at 77
I have been listening to Car Talk with "Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers" since I was a little girl. Through many life phases and various interest obsessions, none of which had to do with fixing cars, I have always found Car Talk to be hilarious, riveting, compassionate, honest, intelligent, down-to-earth and just plain enjoyable. Now I have my own family and we also listen to it in the car. I love how they focus on empowering people to take charge of their own situations before automatically passing it off to someone else. Do it yourself mentality at its best! I was very sad to read today that Tom Magliozzi, the older of the two brothers (recognizable by his oft-appearing full-throated laugh) has passed away from complication of Alzheimer's at the age of 77. I highly recommend the linked article on NPR. It is a wonderful story of the two brothers and their road together. For example, I had no idea they went to MIT! Also listen to the audio samples - the toll booth one is classic Car Talk. Hilarious! I will miss his voice, his sincerity and his laughter very much on the airwaves. Car Talk fans, let's also keep his brother in our thoughts during this very difficult time.

Really sad to hear. I think it's time for a re-run of some of the older shows. Condolences to all his family...
