If you ever sat on an old iron furniture during summer this crimp pattern will remind you of the imprints you get on the back of your legs. Lovely isn't it? To create this pattern you will work your way around the edge of the pie. Press into the dough with the tines of a fork at a 45 degree angle and then pressing in again with the tines, crossing in the opposite direction.
I learned this trick while watching my grandma baking apple pie. It's really easy!
