Rivers, Run, Dry
There are these eyes that shine, they reflect a sadness of rivers without water. The emptiness of times distortion when love has aborted itself, and we are left with empty hands, and empty hearts. Love waves goodbye as we were learning to say hello, being hurt before, closes one to possibilities of rainbows, so we focus on the rain. Never meant to love you, tried not to love you, but I loved you even as you waved goodbye. There are tiny drops of pain that some call tears, as I reflect on empty rivers we dried over the years. @AhmadBlack Welcome back! I really am so happy to read this poem. I love the extended metaphor of the river being representative of the love that existed, and is disappearing...
I also get caught focusing on the rain. I like the way you used very typical descriptions of weather and rivers to mean a lot more than what they do in those typical scenarios
