I wanted to accomplish two things with this video. First - it was a camera test. I had just gotten my Canon 5D MK2 and I had it built with a Nikon/Nikkor lens mount. This way I could use the full set of Nikon prime lenses I own - the same lenses I used with my ARRI 35mm motion picture camera. So this video was done as a test of DOF - exposure - focus and just overall grain/noise at different ISO speeds. It pretty much blew me away and I decided to sell my ARRI 16 and 35mm cameras. Second - I had been given the opportunity to play with Trent Reznor's (Nine Inch Nails) multi-track files for some of his albums in a friend's recording studio. I used Trent's drum-tracks and re-recorded the guitar and bass tracks. I even replaced a Moog Voyager (bass) synth track with a special 35" scale BEAD tuned 4-string bass. The electric guitar I played was a prototype. The very first of its kind. On loan to me from the luthier who designed and built it. It is such a fabulous guitar. Tuned down to C - well - you'll see. It sounded great and played even better. So - there you go. That's the story behind this video. I hope you enjoy!
