DIY Autumn Potpourri
Of course your house will smell delicious on Thanksgiving day thanks to all that action in the kitchen, but what about later in the day when you are sick of the turkey smell? This is a fantastic, easy way to make your house smell amazing all day: Ingredients: 5 cups water 2 navel oranges, peeled 1 apple, sliced in half 3 cinnamon sticks 3 star anise 1 teaspoon-sized knob of fresh ginger 1 teaspoon cardamom pods 1 teaspoon whole cloves 1/4 teaspoon dried orange peel Directions: Combine all ingredients together in a saucepan and heat over low heat until simmering. I have kept this going for a few hours, adding additional water when needed. You can also throw everything in the crockpot and set it on low or high with the top off.

I usually hate the store-bought potpourri that is just weird leaves, but this sounds really nice especially since I can choose what scents!

I love this! I'm going to definitely show this one to my sister. She's a Yankee Candles addict, and I think she'd love this alternative too.
