I've said it before and I'll say it again: space is amazing! But it's not just space outside of Earth that is amazing, but also, Earth from above! This edit I came across on Vimeo compiles footage from the International Space Station, which travels through space at 28.000km/h, into a video that showcases just what our planet looks like form above. The footage is taken from the crew members of ISS expeditions 28, 29, 30, 31, 34, shot from 2011 to 2014. Since the ISS is making a revolution around the earth every 1.5 hours, there are some pretty amazing sites to be seen, and it's not just Earth that is amazing. Check out the lights, the atmosphere, the stars, and more! At 1'11 you can see a little refueling shuttle desintegrating back to earth. At 1'20, it's a little telecom satellitte (Cygnus) that is launched into orbit. The little green and purple lights you can see at 1'57 are respectively fishing boats and oil platforms offshore with the big city of Bangkok nearby. The videos are courtesy of the Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit, NASA Johnson Space Center (you can see more here: eol.jsc.nasa.gov/Videos/CrewEarthObservationsVideos) and edited by Guillaume JUIN (http://www.guillaumejuin.fr/). Absolutely stunning to see!!
@timeturnerjones So, so cool!!! :)
This is stunning!! I loved just seeing the raw footage, but this impact is even stronger when they're put right up against one another like this. Just absolutely amazing!!!!
