In our fast-paced world, it is easy to forget that unique happiness that comes from a genuine connection with another human being. As we begin this holiday season, I thought this video would be a great reminder to put down the phone and enjoy a simple conversation. The message in this video is simple: GIVE PRESENCE. As we shuffle around looking to give gifts to the people we love, let’s not forget that there is a gift that comes from giving undivided attention, compassion, and presence to each other. Let’s not take for granted what we already have. Let’s enjoy where we are, appreciate what we are surrounded by, and live in the presence of the moment. This video touches on the importance of breath, and thus ties directly to the practice of yoga. In yoga, you are meant to control your breath so that your mind, body, and spirit can be completely present in the moment. Not worrying about the future or dwelling in the past. This is precisely why it is so important to my life. Be with others and you'll find that giving presence is better than any present you could give.
My motto: This is not your practice life! Love, live, enjoy, have fun! Our next best life is in heaven! Also, the man that said you are not truly present until you have held someone's hand as they are dying is correct. Having done so for many elderly residents when I was working in Assisted Living/Nursing Home care it was the most satisfying of all my jobs to be present with someone who was alone especially so they had a human body beside them. Still I also realized they were never alone as God or the Angels seemed to make it so peaceful for them to transition to their next life in heaven! At least, I saw the calm and peace wash over them! This is what I chose to believe. I do try to think what and who would I want at my death bed and live each day to my best knowing we are all not here very long on this earth. Thank you for sharing this great card!
I really needed this, thank you for sharing :-) I get so caught up with work and stress that I forget to be present
I really love this, even the video itself calmed me down and focused my attention.
Something we all need to hear during the holiday season. Be present with your loved ones and enjoy the time you have with them.
