The documentary film, "A Small Section of the World," tells the story of a a group of women, residing in a remote farming region of Costa Rica whose ideas sparked a revolution in the coffee growing world. After a crisis, the men of the village left in search of work and the women came together to imagine a different future for themselves, their families, and their community by building their own coffee mill. They are the first women's run micro-mill in their country.
The film trailer (above) shows the impact of their remarkable story! I can't wait to see the film, to see the ways that these women were able to overcome adversary, and really bad coffee (that they were producing themselves!) to change the culture in their world. Coffee really can transform lives, and this shows it.
Alanis Morissette contributed an original song to the cause, and it's co-written by a really funky Costa Rican artist Carlos Tapado Vargas (Side note: I love his hair!) I think @MikeLMiller will enjoy this song a lot!
