AMAs 2014: Ladies' Night

Step aside boys, 2014 is all about the kick-ass female performers. I'll recount my 5 favorite, but really everyone from Charlie XCX to Selena Gomez brought the house down. While the boys of 1D and 5SOS were snatching up the big awards, these fabulous ladies were killing it onstage (where it really matters, right?) 5. Selena Gomez makes everyone cry like a baby Selener performs her new song about a rocky relationship (hey Biebs) and actually brings the audience to tears - or maybe just Taylor Swift, but still, great performance! 4. Lorde's 4 minute performance was more exciting than the 2 hour Hunger Games film. Enough said. Watch the clip. 3. Jessie J is fabulous as usual: No one has pipes like JJ and she knows it. She casually runs around the audience hitting notes that she just should not be able to hit. And then to top it off, Nicki and Ariana join her to complete the power pack for Bang Bang. (Sorry for the bad quality, but just LISTEN to that voice!) 2. Iggy wins the β€œfirst award I’ve ever won in [her] whole life,” and then slays next to Charlie XCX - like, actually slays. 1. Taylor Swift actually goes insane onstage So before you watch it here's what you should look out for: - She sets herself on fire, then puts it out with her bare hands - She descends from the ceiling in a picture frame and dining room table - She throws a grown man across the stage - She may or may not have sneered in Harry Style's direction but who can be sure ;) Watch it here:
I love how Lorde is so comfortable to just be herself, awkward dancing and all ^^. All these performances were great, but tbh I'm not the biggest fan of Iggy, I found her performance a little weak, but that's just my opinion
Lorde and Selena looked so great! I love those two; thanks for sharing~~!!
What a dazzling outfit! Damn!
Selena's performance was so emotional :'(

The Grammy's: On the Red Carpet
Hi everyone! I'll be living Vingling the Grammy's tonight so let's just right into it -- the Red Carpet! Sia Nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, Sia is definitely an artist to watch this year. Her two singles from 2014, Chandelier and Elastic Heart, have accrued a whopping 620 million views on YouTube to date. Notoriously camera shy, Sia arrived with her face mostly covered by her huge platinum blonde bob wig, with her trusty dancing queen - Maddie Zielger - at her side. Ariana Grande Princess Ariana is up for Best Pop Duo and Pop Vocal Album tonight already looks like a winner arriving with her white Versace gown and boyfriend Big Sean. Gwen Stefani I don't know what face cream this woman uses but I want it. Gwen is 45 years old and still looks more fit than I do at 22. While she isn't nominated for anything this year, I think she wins in the 'aged gracefully' category (slide right to see Madonna's outfit from a Grammy party the night before...not pretty) Jessie J In case you don't follow Kelly Clarkson on Twitter (and thus didn't see her live fangirling over Jessie J's dress) let me tell you - Jessie J looked amazing. Her incredible single, Bang Bang, featuring Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj is up for Pop Duo/Group Performance of the year! Katy Perry Probably Jessie J's only competition when it comes to the Pop Duo category is Katy Perry with Dark Horse. She's also up for Pop Vocal Album of the Year for Prism - as if performing the Super Bowl wasn't enough of an awesome start to 2015. Nicki Minaj If Nicki doesn't walk away with a Grammy for the categories that she's nominated for (Best Pop Duo and Best Rap Song) I don't know what I'll do. Taylor Swift Taylor Swift basically owned 2014, even if New York City rejected her as their spokesperson. Her album 1989 broke all kinds of records and now she's on her way to fill her shelf at home with Grammy's. Keep an eye on her for Best Pop Solo, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year!
2015 Power Players: The Ladies
2014 was a year of serious girl power (think Taylor Swift's 1989 or Nicki's Anaconda) and it looks like 2015 will be an even stronger one. Six ladies stand out to me for 2015 and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us ~ Ariana Grande - After problem came out, Ariana sealed the deal as the new hit maker in pop music. Whether she's the next Mariah or not, she's got big plans in 2015 including a world tour and HOPEFULLY a new album. She's staying out of trouble, generally being adorable, and killing it in a high pony tail. Azealia Banks - Headling Coachella is just the beginning of Banks' 2015 domination plan. She's planning a new album, heading towards 400k instagram followers, and will probably be collaborating with a ton of people you've never heard of. Her new album Fantasea II: The Second Wave is going to be followed up by Banks' third album (which she's already announced!) called Business and Pleasure. Lorde - That track from the Mockingjay soundtrack was wicked and proof that Lorde has more in her than one Grammy winning album. There are rumors (big rumors) of a 2015 album release, but now its looking more like 2016. Either way, I'm sure she has some amazing covers and live performances for us this year! Nicki Minaj - While she's embarking on the Pinkprint world tour, Nicki isn't planning to slow down. Her newest video with Drake, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne is the definition of fierce. No matter what she's doing or where she is you know she'll be doing it will the attitude that made her famous. Shakira - Shakira Shakira! She's back in the game with her 11th - yeah, you heard me - ELEVENTH studio album. She'll be working with more amazing artists and hopefully adding a tour to her to do list because I need to see Shakira once before I die. Jessie J - Okay if Bang Bang didn't literally blow your mind, you need to get your hearing checked. I alway like her singles cause they're catchy as hell but she is now taking her vocals to a new level and BELTING it out. If she doesn't get some more attention this year there is going to be trouble! And you know Beyonce is probably going to do something ridiculous again too. Also, where is Lady Gaga other than singing with Tony Bennet?
