Weddings and events in general can quickly go from fabulous to oops, all because the bathrooms were never thought of. Don't let that be you! Tips to keep the party rolling in and out of the bathroom: 1. Ensure there are enough lavatories for each gender. Don't forget about those with special needs. 2. Are the toilets working? Better check! 3. Toilet seat covers and toilet paper. Get it stocked. 4. Proper soap and sanitizers. Paper towels. 5. Mirrors! Yes, I've been to a wedding where the bathroom had none. Yikes! 6. Toiletries. Don't go crazy and buy out Costco or the drug store. Simply have the basics on hand like disposable oral hygiene products, hair care tools, gender-specific hygiene products, and the like. 7. Ensure the bathrooms are freshly clean. Empty waste baskets. 8. Beautify the bathroom. Depending on your budget, you can keep it simple with a basic floral arrangement or get creative by dressing the stall doors. 9. First-Aid. Sometimes things happen. And while the event coordinator is usually the go-to person for minor emergencies, it's always a good idea to have basic first-aid products in the bathroom as well. Things like band-aids, anti-bacterial swabs, burn spray, bandages, and cold packs can go a long way. 10. Have fun. Leave notes in the bathroom for your guests encouraging them to quickly get back to the party. Baskets full of the aforementioned can quickly add up in cost. By sticking to the basics and buying off-brand at 99-Cent or Dollar Tree stores (or similar), you can purchase most items items for under a buck. Don't forget to peruse the hygienic trial/travel aisle of drug stores too. Places like Target, Wal-Mart, among others have tons of things that won't break the bank. No, I'm not an event planner, but I've been interested in event planning. I have 5 friends that are getting married soon (1 in December and the rest early next year). They asked me for some suggestions and I found your post really inspiring and shared some thoughts with the couple that's getting married in December. Great tips! Definitely the little and non-glamorous things you overlook, like bathrooms, can be what breaks an event. First aid kits are a great can also add a repair kit for wardrobe issues (safety pins, sewing kit, stain remover kits). You should do one on outdoor events and things like mosquito repellent, fans, sunglasses, etc
