[23rd-Nov-14] LA 1-0 Seattle (Western Conference Final 1st Leg)
A Marcelo Sarvas goal was enough to sink a Seattle squad missing Osvaldo Alonso & Lamar Neagle.
LA dominated the play early with Zardes and Keane testing the Seattle defense before a Martins chance that was spilled by LA keeper Pinedo almost cost the Galaxy as the keeper stood strong against Dempsey's follow through. Robbie Rodgers was able to test the Seattle keeper just before half time with the score at 0-0.
The second half started with Seattle on the offensive, as a cheeky back heel from Martins put Dempsey in alone before Pinedo denied him the glory. Minutes later a big deflection gave Sarvas and LA their go-ahead goal to lead 1-0. The pressure was still on afterwards as Ishizaki hit the bar from a free kick about 22 yards from goal. In stoppage LA's Gordon looked good to double the Galaxy lead but he couldn't get the ball over the defense.
The day will belong to LA however. Having dominated play and had the better chances, LA will be hard done to be up only 1-0 in a game they could have buried the Sounders in. The clean sheet will help them, particularly if they can find the net this weekend in Seattle.
Seattle will be ruing their missed chances and their absent midfielders. This fixtures is set up for a scintillating second leg for sure.
