Vocals Week! Live Proof!
To me, I always appreciate the vocals that sound amazing unedited and live. That is the sign of a great performer. But I also love original sounds and techniques. So here are some of my favorite vocalists live. And yes, to me Youngjae, you are the best! Youngjae from B.A.P Oh my UB I can't deny him! That soft, low, raspy voice that can still belt out notes like there's no tomorrow; for me it sounds so unique and I love it. The pitch is the perfect tone for me. Plus his singing face is gorgeous! I just hope he becomes more confident in his abilities because he should have lots of confidence. And I love you too Daehyun! Your voices mix so well! Jo Kwon Such a peppy voice at times but he's got that sweet, soft romantic voice down to an art! And he shows so much emotion not only on his face but through his voice. It really makes you experience the song. And I'm so happy to have new songs from him! You should check them out! Sungjoo from UNIQ Of course I'm bringing up UNIQ! Because I can't deny that his singing slays me! I'm dead every time a note leaves that gorgeous mouth of his, his voice is extremely powerful! His part is shared with Yibo and starts at roughly 1:00. Hyunseung from Beast He has a gorgeous voice that matches his lean lovely body. *wipes drool* I'm all good! Sorry about that! But he has a voice that fits different styles and he sounds great live! This was my favorite song of his solo album Ma First Taehyung from BTS A list would not be complete without BTS and my favorite vocal is Tae! I feel like there's not a ton of deep voiced singers in idol groups so I really love his manly, raspy, deep voice. It's just. Dang. This was a tough list to make; I nearly fainted from the amount of manliness and testosterone exposure! Korean Movie Club: Silenced
Trigger warning: Physical and sexual abuse of minors. The plot: Kang In-ho (Gong Yoo) is a new art teacher at Benevolence Academy, a deaf school for children (Based on the real-life Gwangju Inhwa School). He's excited to teach his new students, but they all seem afraid of him and even scared. In-ho does not give up, and eventually the students start to open up to him - and tell him horrifying things. The children are being physically and sexually abused by their teachers. When he decides to fight for the children’s rights and expose the crimes being committed at the school, he soon realizes the school’s principal and teachers, and even the police, prosecutors and churches in the community are actually trying to cover up the truth According to its summary: It is based on actual events that took place at Gwangju Inhwa School for the hearing-impaired, where young deaf students were the victims of repeated sexual assaults by faculty members over a period of five years in the early 2000s The aftermath: The film looks at both the crimes, as well as the legal battle that followed. It showed the true story that the teachers who ABUSED THEIR STUDENTS were let off with minimal punishment. The nation was pissed. After its release, there was so much outrage from the citizens who watched the film, that the investigations were reopened. The demand for legislative reform reached all the way to the National Assembly, where a revised bill, dubbed the Dogani Bill, was passed in late October 2011 to abolish the limitations for sex crimes against minors and the disabled. I haven't seen it yet and will need to be emotionally ready, but I do want to see a film that sparked such a big change in Korea! You can watch it here on Dramanice. Is anyone else interested or has seen it before?
