Alain de Botton's School of Life is in the process of introducing various ideas of philosophy to the masses in a way that is easy to understand, and still educational!
These three videos about Eastern Philosophy ideals were recently released. Will they teach you anything?
The first video talks about Buddhism. The Buddha’s story, de Botton says, “is a story about confronting suffering.” The second video is an introduction to the Chinese sage Lao Tzu, purported author of the Tao Te Ching, the founding text of Daoism. De Button seems to believe that Lao Tzu may well be a mythical character, “like Homer,” and that the Tao is likely the work “of many authors over time.” The last video is about a Japanese Zen Buddhist sage (Rikyu).
