I have many DVDs at home that are getting older and unreadable with time. I've started ripping them into video files that are compatible with our smart devices at home. This can be done easily using HandBrake on Ubuntu. Here's a short tutorial.

This is a smart idea, I'm going to try it out! How long does it usually take?

All depends on your computer's hardware. On my PC laptop, a DVDs can take 4 hours but on my old MacBook 2009, only 1.5 hours
