WURST: CalArts animation alum Carlo Vogele plays with his food
Have you ever thought to yourself "Hey, I wonder what would happen if I put several pounds of raw sausages, steaks, and chicken in front of a green screen."? Well, don't worry. Luxemburg director Carlo Vogele has done all of the dirty work for you with his latest short film. Titled "Wurst", the short tells the story of California birds and brats (obviously organic) enjoying a day at the beach.
While the story ends up being truly engaging, what I loved most about the film is the process in which it was made. In fact, perhaps before you even watch this film yourself, check out the video in slide 3 (the second video attached to this card). It shows a behind-the-scenes look at just how the film was made, where every piece was manipulated carefully and manually in front of a green screen to achieve such surprising and hilarious results.
