Carl Sagan was a champion of reason, but also a man who told intricate, whimsy tales of science. He took on larger-that-science questions with ease. What is science without that kind of curiosity? I don't have an answer! I may not agree with all of Carl Sagan's ideas, but I have a great respect for him. His series in the1980s 13-part TV, entitled Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, can be viewed in parts on Youtube (or purchased as a full set). I don't agree with all his ideas, but I agree with his passion for thought about the critical issues of our world— from international politics to our doomed dependence on fossil fuels — as he explores the universe and our place within it. If we all had this much respect for the issues that are plaguing our world today, we'd all be a little better off. I'm getting off track--my point of sharing these two videos is that they're mystical and wonderful to listen to. The first video is the intro to Cosmos, which gets you into the mindset you need to watch the series. The second describes, beautifully, Sagan's opinions on the life and death of stars! Enjoy these wonderful pieces.

Thanks for sharing this! I've never seen anything by or about this show before, so it's pretty cool to take a look at. I'll have to search for the whole thing!
