I've long thought that the "White Collar" series on the USA network has been underappreciated. The writing is excellent, the cast is solid, the relationships are very real and emotionally engaging - and the plot devices and premises exciting, dangerous and cheeky. I've never lost interest in this show over the years. But now, alas, the time to say goodbye is here. The series finale aired yesterday, and it's sitting heavily in my DVR, waiting for me to be ready to bid my White Collar friends farewell. I really think this show could go on longer since they are so good at generating new stories and cases for them to unravel. I'm not ready to it to end! My favorite parts? - The friendship between Neil, that dashing conman, and his too-clever-for-his-own-good comrade in crime, Mozzie. - The beautiful friendship between Neil and his FBI White Collar handler, Peter. Such an intriguing and emotional exercise in trust and power shifts in relationships. - The hilarious, unlikely friendship between Mozzie and Peter's wife, Elizabeth. - The very healthy, reasonable, romantic and equal relationship between Peter and Elizabeth. I think it's my favorite marriage in television. Yes, even topping Boothe and Brennan from Bones *gasp*! - Elizabeth. She is a totally awesome, intelligent, kind, perceptive, accomplished woman who isn't afraid to be feminine or to speak her mind while being diplomatic. And she is so hilarious! Tiffany Thiessen did a great job with this character. - MOZZIE! Mozzie mozzie mozzie. What an amazing, brilliant, touching, funny supporting character. I think he really made this show. His character also had some of the best-written dialogue. You can see that from this list of some top Mozzie quotes, some which come from his habit of quoting great thinkers: “If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.” (Orson Welles) "The reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." When asked by Peter where he came from (his past is mysterious): "Let's just say enigma gave paradox a very special hug." "Life is more manageable when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party." "We feel free when we escape, even if it be but from the frying pan into the fire." "Fate has a way of putting in front of us, that which we most try to leave behind." "You know the Chinese curse. May you live in interesting times." Goodbye Neil, Mozzie, Peter, Elizabeth and everyone else! You will be missed!
I really enjoyed the 5th season the most. That twist was the best. :D I just saw the last episode.
I watched it because of James Spider at first, because I really love Boston Legal, and it turned out to be really good.
I only saw a tiny bit of Psyche... it was a little too goofy for me. Do you recommend The Blacklist?
When I first started watching it, it really reminded me of a mix of Psyche and The Blacklist. (James Spader)
@DeinNomos I can barely wait! I was out of the country and then slammed with work, so I'm behind a few episodes. I'm looking forward to marathon watching it :)
