One of the best way to renew the home is making old furniture and household item look new. Household stains can be hard to beat, but here are 5 tips to tackle common stains.
Ring around the bathtub
Baking soda is your best bet for removing this grime. Using water and baking soda, create a paste and let that work on the stains for about an hour. Then wipe away with water and a normal bathtub cleaner.
Tomato sauce spilled on carpet
Dab the stain with a detergent solution (1/4 cup of clear dishwashing liquid plus 1 cup of water). Wait several minutes for the solution to break down the stain; then repeat with a vinegar solution (1 cup of vinegar and 2 cups of water). Rinse by blotting with lukewarm water.
Red wine spilled on light-colored countertops
Wipe countertops with baking soda and water, then wipe that down with dishwashing liquid and water, followed by alcohol or bleach if any stain remains.
Marks on walls from furniture
You can use an all-purpose cleaner, sprayed on a sponge, and wipe the wall down. However, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser should remove scuffs from your walls from furniture or other household items in no time.
Dingy, yellow walls from previous tenants/owners
First, wash the walls down with dish soap and water. Then, sponge on a bleach and water solution (1 cup bleach and 1 gallon of water), and let it sit 10 minutes. Scrub with a soft-bristled brush and add more bleach solution if necessary.
