I was stunned when I saw this. I was recently asked what I would like to do when I am older, and I said that I didn't really know. Then 15 minutes later, I saw this, and I realized I hope one day I can make my parents this happy. This guy, Joe Riquelme, CEO of the app Videoshop, paid off his parents' mortgage, put the receipt in that envelope, and said merry christmas in a separate note. I was actually quite upset when I saw the reddit trolls saying that he got this from drug money. Their reason for thinking that? He is hispanic. Being a hispanic in IT myself, I found that so offensive, but I didn't care. I only cared about what the father said to his son: "no hijo". This literally translates as "no, son" but it is a parent expression that is used to express strong disbelief. The father sounded just like my dad...
I wish I could do the same for my parents too if only I had that kind of money but now and days I spend quality time with them as much as possible....my parents are getting older and my dad's health is ailing so any time spent with him is worth while....
This is so inspirational and touching! I teared up. I hope that I will be able to do something like this for my parents in the future.
