You notice your towels are smelling a bit funky. That's when you throw it in the laundry machine to get it cleaned. It's a matter of personal preference, but you shouldn't wait until your towel reek before you clean them. If you hang them on a bath rod and allow them to dry well after each use, bath towels can easily be used three times or even more before you toss them in the laundry. Washing them too often will make them wear out faster, and it's a waste of time and energy. The hand towels are the ones that might need to be laundered more often. They get dirtier faster since you use them more than once a day. Plus all that germs! Here's the proper way to laundry towels: 1. Wash them in the hottest water that's safe for the fabric. 2. Add in 1 or 2 cups of white vinegar. 3. Wash them again with your regular detergent Note: Keep towels away from fabric softener. Both the liquid kind and dryer sheets can inhibit the fabric's absorbtion abilities.
