Hot Hells Africa Downhill Run
player.vimeo.com
The South African Gravity Racing Association (SAGRA) put on the downhill longboarding World Cup event in Kogelberg, South Africa. Skaters traveled from all over the world to the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, a nature reserve that was once a missile testing site. Hikers say you can still find 90mm mortars on the slopes of the reserve. The military testers left behind a smooth 2km strip of tarmac. The event, named Hot Hells Africa, took place on December 11th-14th, with spectators allowed for entry on the 13th and 14th. This video is just a practice run of Canadian Scott (Scoot) Smith and German Sebastian Hertler. The tiny strip of tarmac, the beautiful scenery, and the interesting history really make this place an incredibly unique location for a race!

I haven't done too much with racing/downhill but that looks amazing.

The turns aren't too sharp so I like it.

Exactly, the turns look doable. Although I don't have a clue on how fast they are actually going.
