Sometimes, it's hard to choose your own New Year's Resolution. If you're Facebook's CEO, that means you can post on your page asking people what you should do. After it was suggested by some people, Mark Zuckerberg has decided to open a book club of sorts, with the goal to read 24 books in 2015. Every two weeks, Zuckerberg will share the book title, and then discussion can be had on the page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Year-of-Books/818824488163482) titled "Year of Books" which is dedicated to housing this goal. Will you join the "Year of Books?" I'm not sure I can get through the book's chosen every two weeks in addition to all the other books I plan to read this year. The first book nominated, The End of Power by Moisés Naím, was a top book last year and is now completely sold out at many retailers (including Amazon's paperback version). Coincidence? Likely, no. It's been proven before by other celebrity book clubs (such as Oprah's) that a big name suggesting a book can mean big sales! Either way, I trust that Zuckerberg won't be reading books that don't come highly recommended, so even if I don't read at the same pace as the Year of Books suggests, I'll attempt to add some of them to my reading agenda this year!
@timeturnerjones I somehow doubt (hope not) it but who knows! If there is an Oprah book club, I don't doubt that Zuckerberg could get something similar in the works.
Is there going to be a Facebook publishing co the way that there started to be like Oprah paperback editions? lol
