In a study carried out in the Europe, it is found that pregnant mothers have a higher risk of giving birth to premature if they were to consume a large amount of fried and oily food and unhealthy snacks. The longitudinal research was carried out over five years since 2006 on 1100 females from across England, Denmark, Spain etc. It was found that if the mother were to consume fried food and junk food everyday, the baby has a higher risk of having a smaller head (0.25cm smaller in perimeter) and 141g lighter than a normal average baby. It is discovered that acrylamide produced in the process of making junk food will affect the baby weight and the size of its head. Hence it is recommended for pregnant mothers to stay away from acrylamide, and from unhealthy food which will be harmful to both the body and the child.
