Recently, I have found myself on the computer more and more, and as a result I feel my normally great eyesight getting weaker. Especially when looking up from my computer or phone, it takes longer than usual for my eyes to focus on something far away. Because of work, I can't stop using technology all together, but I can take steps to stretch out my eye muscles! Here are a few ways to get those eye muscles back into shape: 1. Using the Heels of Your Hands Sit near a table and place your elbows on the edge. Let your weight fall forward and cup your hands over your eyes. Inhale slowly through nose and hold for 4 seconds continue deep breathing for 15-30 seconds. You should be pressing very lightly on your eyelids. 2. Eye Motion Close your eyes and while keeping them closed, move your eyes to look up and the ceiling, then slowly down to the floor. Repeat this 3 times. Then, slowly and gently move eyes to the left, then slowly to the right. Repeat 3 times. 3. Changing Your Focus Hold one finger a few inches away from your eye and focus on the finger. Slowly move the finger away from your face. Focus far into the distance and then back to the finger while slowly bringing the finger back to within a few inches of the eye. Repeat this 3 times.
@caricakes I've heard that too! I always did that as a little kid to freak out my grandma haha
I want to start using the apps that make your screen go dark for a few seconds every hour to remind you to look up and stretch your eyes, but I feel like I'm too busy :(
I always try to look as far as I can in each direction. Don't move your head at all and try to look as far as you can to the left, right, up, and down!
My eye doctor always said that crossing your eyes made them stronger!
I have been trying to pay attention to how close I sit to my screen. Backing up a bit has made my eyes feel much better.
