I've been wondering about this, too. You're referring to The Hunger Games series of course. I'm not overlt surprised the movie is banned in China (many are) but it is interesting to think about how pop. culture is being incorporated into very real revolts. if you think about it, those supporting the symbol of the mockingjay too, originally took it from the games' tv show....a sort of twisted popular culture..... I wonder what other symbols in the past (the beatles? movies in the 60s and 70s?) have been used as symbols of change in very real situations.
@hikaymm It's certainly not the first time, nor will it be the last. Books and other texts, as well as movies and music, are digested into a generation and regurgitated as words that mean something in real world contexts. What book will inspire the next revolution?
