Stage 1 Early Pregnancy (1-3mths):
Even though the stomach is still considerably small at this stage, it is recommended for mothers to start sleeping on her side to get accustomed to the position for the coming months.
Stage 2 Midterm Pregnancy (4-7mths):
It does not matter which side the mother sleeps facing at this stage. It is recommended for mothers to place a cushion below the stomach so as to be able to sleep more comfortably.
Stage 3 Last Stage of Pregnancy (8-10mths):
Lying on your left side is strongly recommended as this position aids blood circulation and prevents edema. Mothers may also wish to sleep with the cushions in between both legs, a pillow at the back for greater comfort during sleep.
