1. Don't Hit Snooze You may be thinking that getting 5 or 10 more minutes of sleep will help you get through the day, but research has found that hitting that snooze button might actually be making you more tired! To solve that problem, try to head to bed 30 minutes earlier and get off your phone/computer/tablet 90 minutes before bed. Then get ready to jump out of bed bright-eyed and bushy tailed! 2. Start With an Affirmation Say something positive to yourself to start the day with an optimistic outlook. Even if you had a bad day yesterday, wipe the slate clean and start fresh. It's a new day and you're great! 3. Take a Warm Shower A morning shower wakes up your body and mind and is a great time to just zone out. You can calmly think about your day ahead of you and to reflect on the past few days. 4. Stay Unplugged for An Hour Don’t reach for your phone!! Instead of starting the day with emails and texts, start with a coffee and the newspaper. The morning is your moment of Zen, take advantage before stepping into the real world. 5. Simplify Your Morning Routine Do yourself a favor and get most of your morning routine settled before you even go to sleep! Get a jumpstart on the day by laying out clothes the night before. A relaxing morning routine sets a positive tone for the rest of the day. 6. Exercise Early Though it may be hard to get started, you will feel more productive, energized, and less stressed. 7. Eat Breakfast No one is themselves on an empty stomach, but this isn't an excuse to eat a snickers bar. Fuel up on something protein-rich to get your head in the game!
