A couple months ago, my sister and a few friends roadtripped up from San Diego to Los Angeles to check out the annual LA Vegan Beer & Food Festival. Every year, the festival welcomes vegan vendors from all over California to come, and in turn, the event makes for some serious good eats. Case in point, my sister officially fell in love with Doomie's Home Cookin', a vegan restaurant on Fountain & Vine in Hollywood that specializes in burgers, pastas, and some serious soul food. Aside from their southern fried chik'n (picture 4) and mac-n-cheeze, perhaps the biggest draw to the restaurant is a towering veggie burger lovingly referred to as the Big Mac. Just like a Big Mac, the burger boasts two patties, pickles, onions, tomato, lettuce, and plenty of (vegan) cheese and special sauce. The burger comes with a side of fries that you can even custom order 'animal style' just like the famous stacked fries of In-N-Out Burger. This burger is so good that it's made believers out of some of the most stubborn fans of fast food cheeseburgers! Doomie's Home Cookin' is open daily from noon to 10 PM. Check them out at the following address: 1253 N Vine St Hollywood, CA 90038
Animal style vegan fries?! I am in love.
That first picture tho. I just ate supper but I'm hungry for that now.
This is definitely a place that my meat-loving friends would actually go to! I try to drag some of my friends to vegan friendly places and they scoff, but this might change their tune!
ahhh that would be awesome!!! lol ;D
@Maygirl2014 Next time I travel to the east coast, I'll smuggle you a Big Mac in my luggage. ;)
