Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson made history today when they summited became the first people to free climb El Capitan's Dawn Wall in Yosemite Naitonal Park. The climb took 19 days of continuous climbing, but years of planning a climb that many considered the most challenging rock climb in the world. The Dawn Wall is 3,000 feet tall, taller than any skyscraper in the world. Free climbers are not assisted by ropes, rather, ropes are a safety device to break their fall.
