Who doesn't love to be in love? Which is precisely why I am sharing these three cakes inspired by Valentine's Day. With just a couple weeks till Cupid takes flight, you still have time to make the married couples in your life a cake that acknowledges their union while paying homage to the holiday. What makes these cakes so terrific is their ability to transcend any one holiday. The cake topper hearts sort of give it away, but besides, these designs are universal enough that you could use them year-round. Since the cakes are merely two layers, there's not an abundance of cake that would lead to waste. In the first pic you can see a beautiful two-tier white cake with a fondant chevron pattern in soft pink. It's simplicity marked by a heart is a lovely nod to Valentine's Day. I love the ombre icing effect on the middle cake as the base of the cake is drenched in red to a soft pink at the top. The arrow and crinkle confetti are super fun in the third design. Again, the two-tier silhouette and all-white icing make the non-edible elements pop. Love to hear your ideas on how you plan to celebrate the married couples in your life. Maybe it's your parents or grandparents. Share your stories!
