Hair buildups can be annoying especially if you have long hair it can appear lifeless and dull. The problem is we tend to use too much styling products that weighs down our hair. As a result, it can make the hair feel brittle and prone to split ends. So, the first thing you you need to do is damage repair - aka get the gunk off your hair. These methods are great for removing product build-up, hard water deposits and mineral build-up on your hair: 1. A good clarifying shampoo. 2. A baking soda clarifying treatment. How: Mix 1/4 C. baking soda & 3 T. water to form paste. Massage into hair. Leave in for 10 minutes & wash as usual. 3. An apple cider vinegar rinse. How: Mix four parts water to one part vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray your scalp well and work into your hair with your fingers. Let it sit for few minutes and then rinse with cool water. Follow with a light conditioner and rinse well. How often you need to remove build up really depends on the products you use and the water coming out of your tap. Most people could use a clarifying treatment at least once a month.
