Gentle Yoga Sequence for Stress Relief
Unwind with this gentle yoga sequence that stretches everything out, and will help quiet your mind. Child's Pose- Reach arms out in front, rest forehead on the mat, reach hips back behind you. Take a few breaths here. Totally relaxing. Reach Back- Start on all fours. Lift right leg, reach back and grab foot with left hand. If you're able to grab hold, lift the leg and arm up a bit for a front body stretch. Downward Dog- Start on your hands and knees. Curl your toes under and press against the balls of your feet. Press your chest toward your knees, keep your eyes focused on your toes and press your heels toward the floor. Lift your hips toward the ceiling until your body makes an inverted "V." Press your chest toward your knees, keep your eyes on your toes and press your heels toward the floor. Chaturanga- Come into traditional push up position. Roll the toes forward and lower so that arms are in a 90 degree angle. Keep your core engaged and hold. Reach Back- Start on all fours. Lift right leg, reach back and grab foot with left hand. If you're able to grab hold, lift the leg and arm up a bit for a front body stretch. Child's Pose- Reach arms out in front, rest forehead on the mat, reach hips back behind you.
