If you had the chance to get a blowout from a salon you know the experience of being pampered like a princess and walk out with fabulous hair. However, not all of us have the time and resource to get a blowout every week. The solution? Do it yourself at home. Here are some expert tips to get the perfect blowout at home. 1. Dry before you blow dry. Don't ever dry your hair when it's sopping wet. If you do it when the hair is wet, it will dry your hair out. Soak out the moisture before drying! 2. Avoid wrapping your hair. The trick to keeping your hair smooth once you’re out of the shower is not to wrap your hair up in a towel. Blot your hair with it from scalp to ends. 3. Ditch the towel. I've mentioned this before and I'm saying it again, don't try your hair with a towel because it will cause friction and frizziness. 4. Use necessary products. A heat-protectant is a must when you're blow drying. However, you stylist use additional products when styling your hair. Use a volumizing spray to add height and hold throughout the day. 5. Choose the right tools. Know which brush to use for your hair type and style you want to achieve. A boar bristle brush is best for curly/textured hair and thermal styling brush is perfect for fine hair to add volume. In addition, try using an ionic dryer to dry hair quicker while maintaining shine and softness. 6. Try adding some easy waves. If you always blow dry your hair straight try giving it some texture. Pin curling each two inch section after you’ve finished drying it will help with achieving volume and longevity for your blow out. If you have a lot of hair, leave it slightly damp and divide into five sections, pin curl it to dry, hairspray, and remove the pins when finished. I hope these tips are helpful!
