Hopefully everyone survived the sudden bleep in service on Facebook and Instagram today (the services were down for a few hours) The good news is, this wasn't the work of hackers (even though the hacker group Lizard Squad tried to steal the glory when the sites first went down) it was just a Facebook uh-oh. Here’s the Facebook statement: Earlier this evening many people had trouble accessing Facebook and Instagram. This was not the result of a third party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems. We moved quickly to fix the problem, and both services are back to 100% for everyone. The biggest issue was that not only was Facebook and Insta down, but any site you use that requires an FB log in was down too! (Yes, that means Tinder) Now that the problem is fixed, the world can right itself again and go back to sharing videos of dogs and food. Cause who can go a few hours without that!?
