Katy Perry's halftime performance at Super Bowl XLIX, has been hyped for months and in my opinion, it did not disappoint - but not necessarily because of Katy. Katy Perry brought us what we all expected: excessive props, costume changes, and fireworks, but what I wasn't expecting was her guest performers. Basically, Missy Elliot stole the show. From the get-go I thought the tiger was ridiculous, but the acrobats in Dark Magic helped my get back into the show. Lenny Kravitz was an unexpected hit but then Katy came back with the sharks came and made everything kooky again. Just when I was about to give up, Missy came to save the day. Missy Elliot is an artist that can seemingly disappear for a decade (with a few choice side projects here and there) and then randomly burst onto one of the biggest stage of the year and kill it. It tied the whole performance together and put me in a good mood as I watched Katy Perry float off in a sea of glitter and fireworks. Here's the set list - "Roar" "Dark Horse" "I Kissed a Girl" (with Lenny Kravitz) "Teenage Dream" "California Gurls" Missy Elliott medley: "Get Ur Freak On," "Work It," "Lose Control" "Firework"
