Anti-Domestic Violence and the Super Bowl
In this 60-second spot from No More, an anti-domestic-violence group that has partnered with the N.F.L.,a woman has called 911 with a pizza order, and the dispatcher finally realizes that what she really needs is not food but protection in her own home. What is most chilling about this ad is that there are no faces, only the aftermath of abuse. No More has aired PSA's throughout the season, thanks to airtime donated as part of the N.F.L.’s penance for Ray Rice - this is the most powerful of the series. While the rate of domestic-violence in the U.S. has dropped in the past two decades, the problem is still widespread: one in four women, and one in seven men, have experienced physical violence by people they trusted in their lifetimes. This is one small step, but hopefully this Super Bowl ad made a difference in someone's life.
