@Goyo it is true only because while you're young your eye is still developing the age limit for the procedure was 18 until I think they just changed it to 21.
I am not very familiar with this topic, but I have heard that you shoudl not do it if you are young. Is there any truth to that?
I know that it is totally safe but the idea of a razor shaving a bit of my eye gives me the chills!
Unfortunately for my mother, because her astigmatism, the probability of lasik improving her eyesight is slim. Hopefully they continue to improve this amazing procedure!
My husband had it done and he didn't have to wear glasses anymore. I'm still a little afraid though lol

How to Quit Smoking: 7 Best Ways According to Scientists
According to researchers, those who decide to quit smoking make up to 30 attempts Estimating the number of quit attempts it takes to quit smoking successfully in a longitudinal cohort of smokers before they succeed. This is due to the difficulties of abandoning bad habits in general, as well as with the individual characteristics of the body. The method that worked for five of your friends can misfire you. And vice versa: you can come up with your own way to tie up a smoke that categorically does not suit your friends, but it turns out to be incredibly effective specifically in your case. These 7 ways to quit smoking have proven both statistically and scientifically. Try to find yours among them. 1. Set a date to prepare Image - Source It is from this that experts recommend start a personal fight against smoking. And there are reasons for that. Most smokers have decided at least once in their lives: “Everything, from tomorrow - not a single puff!” Of course, they kept their word. Up to the first nervous shake or moment of oblivion. “Oh, I'm with a cigarette, I don’t even know how it happened ...” The problem is that smoking is not only physiological, but also psychological dependence. You may not be aware of this, but a cigarette is closely associated with significant, vital things. For example, the ability to exhale in the midst of a nervous working day. Discuss in the smoking room what cannot be discussed in the office. Talk on the phone with your loved one. Drink a cup of coffee without thinking about anything - just "sticking" into the landscape around. If you quit smoking on the same day, a gaping hole forms in the place of these significant pleasures. Everything seems to be OK, a cup of coffee in hand, but something is missing. And this deficit spoils all the pleasure. Or a little different: before a smoke break was an opportunity to take a pause relatively legally, but now you do not smoke, which means that there is no reason for a pause. And so you continue to work without interruption, exhausting the nervous system and driving yourself into a state of permanent fatigue . It is not surprising that your subconscious mind will try to return a saving cigarette, which is associated with relaxation and pleasure. And it will return, believe me. Therefore, quitting smoking from tomorrow is a controversial option. It’s better to set an exact date. Not too close to get ready, and not too far not to change your mind. The preparation is as follows. You need to untie smoking from everyday relaxation and pleasure. If you are used to combining a cup of coffee with a cigarette - drink, but without a cigarette. Promise yourself: “I will drink coffee now, and have a smoke in 15 minutes” - and keep the promise. If you need informal communication with colleagues, go for it without a cigarette, again promising yourself a smoke break some time later. When day X comes in the end, your withdrawal from quitting a cigarette will not be so strong, because at least psychologically you will be prepared for it. 2. Record triggers and exclude them from life Image - Source This recommendation is partly related to the paragraph above. The bottom line is that often we could not smoke. But there are situations that directly make us reach for the pack. These are the so-called triggers. Calculate them: for several days carefully describe all the moments when you lit a cigarette. "I drink morning coffee." "I lit up to talk with a girl." "I went out with my colleagues into the yard, I smoke for the company." Then try to modify at least those situations that are repeated day by day. For example, if you are used to smoking a cigarette with morning coffee, start drinking tea. Or go to healthy breakfasts : you hardly want to smoke with oatmeal. Try to develop a replacement strategy for each of the detected triggers. You will not get rid of the addiction right away, but you can significantly reduce the amount of nicotine. And this is a serious step towards success. 3. Replace smoking with other pleasures or employment Image - Source Perfect time to quit smoking - vacation. There are no stresses provoking to reach for a cigarette. Interesting activities are full. It’s enough not to take cigarettes with you to the rafting along a rough mountain river or go on a bus tour in Europe, where no one will brake or air the Louvre to give you the opportunity to smoke, and you will be surprised to find that you can easily do without smoke for several rich and interesting days. The main thing here is to draw the awareness from such an experience: “I do not smoke because I want, but because I am just bored and have nothing to occupy myself with.” Sounds so-so, right? Try to get rid of boredom. Look for activities that could replace cigarettes. And you quit smoking. 4. Go in for sports Image - source If we talk about substitution therapy, then exercise is one of the most healthy options. Studies show, sports activities distract from thoughts about cigarettes, cheer up and give a sense of control over oneself. After working with the barbell or swimming a kilometer or two, you begin to feel like a strong, strong-willed person who can’t completely give up on the teeth for the sake of some kind of puff. 5. Decide how to overcome the impulse Image - Source The desire to smoke most often occurs spontaneously. First, we grab a cigarette on emotions, drag ourselves on, and only then the brain yells: “What are you doing, we promised!” And it's too late. Therefore, it is extremely important to maintain a short pause between “Oh, how I want to smoke” and the click of a lighter. This pause is really small. Experts assure that an acute desire to grab a cigarette lasts no more than 3-5 minutes. Think about how you can fill this time - and try to bring this action to an automatic level. For example, pulled to nicotine - push up several times. Or a minute we stand at the bar. Or chew a hard apple. Or bite a toothpick. Or just open the window and take a few deep breaths. Any option is suitable, if only the pause placeholder was stably at hand at the right time. 6. Connect social networks Image - Source It sounds funny, but those smokers who talk about the course of their struggle with a bad habit in social networks are successful significantly more often than those who try to fight cigarette cravings offline. Thanks to Facebook or Twitter, other people seem to support you. In addition, social networks are full of motivating stories of those who have already started smoking. And the more we get to know other people's successful cases, the more we believe in our own victory. 7. Increase the content of vegetables and fruits in the diet Image - source A study conducted by scientists from the University of Buffalo (USA), proved: the more vegetables and fruits a person consumes, the easier it is for him to stop smoking. The point is that our brain often confuses cravings for tobacco with cravings for fiber. Having treated ourselves with a cabbage salad or a crispy apple, we are deceiving the body: it begins to seem to him that he has already received the desired, and therefore the cigarette seems to be irrelevant.
Benefits of Natural Medicine: Sea moss, Bladderwrack, Tumeric, Maca, and Chasteberry
Hello fam! I've been making adjustments to my lifestyle so I can have a healthier life. One big thing that I do is utilize natural alternatives to my healthcare regimen. I take vitamins and use natural ways to regulate my hormones levels since I do have POCS. I know longer have cysts but I do have the other issues as in insulin resistance, over weight, and irregular hormone levels. Again I'm not a doctor so make sure you always consult with your doctor before doing anything. I'm just sharing some things I do that has helped me greatly! I'm a texture person I just add this to my scrambled eggs. This does have a salty sea taste since it is from the ocean. I know people who purchase the actual algae and soak in hot water to drink as a tea. I purchased my sea moss gel from a legit herbal person who also can mix whatever other vitamins or herb in your batch. Tumeric When using this try to get organic in the powder form. My mom even used this for inflammation. When ingesting this make sure to add Black pepper to activate this. Basically, no use taking this if you don't add the Black pepper. The Black pepper allows our body to absorb the tumeric. I just sprinkle on food. It does stain so be careful. I use these both to regulate my hormones and this stuff is golden! I do not have the issues I had with my POCS once I changed to taking these two together. I actual purchased these in liquid form recently and love it. However, you can purchase the maca in powder form and both in supplement form.

Japan's New Temporary Tattoos Detect A Common Food Allergy.
Food allergies are no joke. As many of you might know, being allergic to foods like nuts, eggs, and wheat flour can cause a range of extremely dangerous symptoms, ranging from itching and nausea to even painful swelling of the throat and airways. Japan has been taking a pretty impressive proactive stance for early allergy detection - and the method they've employed to get the job done might really surprise you! These 'ukiyo-e'-inspired temporary tattoos have been specially created to indicate whether or not the wearer is allergic to soba. Soba, a staple noodle popularly enjoyed in the country, is made from buckwheat, the top food-related allergen among children in East Asia - with the strongest reactions resulting in anaphylactic shock. If the wearer is not allergic, the tattoo will remain a black-and-white design. If the wearer has an allergy, sudden red detailing will appear. And, differently from a traditional allergy test, this indication does not result in burning or itching skin. The tattoos are currently being used by the 230 Soba Street Promotion Association, a Hokkaido-based group of soba noodle restaurateurs along the region's popular foodie destination, Route 230. They hope that this kind of technology will catch on and encourage similar products to be made for other common food allergies. Would you rock one of these tattoos? Man Plays Saxophone While Receiving Brain Surgery
A team of doctors in Spain became medical pioneers after performing neurosurgery on 27-year-old Carlos Aguilera while he remained conscious and playing his saxophone. Carlos was undergoing surgery to have a brain tumor removed, and as a diehard musician, the medical team didn't want him to have to lose his ability to play his saxophone any time soon. His neurosurgeon, Dr. Guillermo Ibáñez of the Regional Hospital of Málaga, insisted that playing the instrument mid-surgery would help the team keep the part of the brain that deals with music language unharmed during the tumor removal. According to the BBC, the patient performed a number of jazz standards for a team of sixteen medical professionals - during a surgery that lasted OVER 12 HOURS! After the surgery proved to be a success and Carlos had properly recovered, both he and his doctor participated in a press conference, where he explained how it felt to be the first patient in such an experimental surgery: "Music is what has accompanied me half a lifetime, so when the doctors told me I could do that, I did not think twice." A recording of the surgery has been made available to the Associated Press, so if you haven't hit your quota of extremely strange YouTube videos yet this week, the following clip is for you. (WARNING: It's definitely an uncensored surgery video, so proceed with caution.) So what do you guys think? Would you have been brave enough to pull this off? How To Learn A New Language At Home
I've been trying to improve my French recently, and came across these awesome YouTubers called DamonandJo. They have self-taught themselves nearly 6 languages! I believe they speak French, Spanish, Portugese, Italian, German, and of course English! You can either watch the video above (which I suggest cause they have the BEST sense of humor) or check out their tips below: 1. Follow Famous YouTubers in the language you want to learn! There are tons of youtubers in other languages, and often if they are famous enough, there will be english subtitles. Listen to them to hear real people speaking the language rather than a text book! They're usually super entertaining too so it helps :) 2. Follow those YouTubers or famous people on twitter so you see that language each day! The easiest way to get used to a foreign language is to see it all the time and this really helps! 3. Change your phone/facebook/etc language to your desired language! Since you probably already know where everything is in your phone or facebook, you wont be confused and you'll learn a ton of new vocab! 4. Listen to audio books in the language you want!!! Audible has a ton of foreign language books. Try starting with a book you already know well (like Harry Potter for me - I'm trying to read that in Korean right now...) and listen throughout your day! 5. Sign up for foreign magazines or newsletters! Or even better download their app in another language! For example, my boyfriend gets push notification from Le Monde which is a french newspaper :) Even if you only read the headline, its practice. 6. Try cooking a meal using a recipe in a different language! You start to learn that a lot of words you actually already know (for example, sauté means the same thing in french and in korean bokkeum (like bokkeumbap) means fried! so literally "fried rice!" 7. Watch TV shows in the language Duh!!!! 8. Talk to yourself and dont be afraid! Practice speaking whenever you can, even to people who are strangers! be brave! What languages are you trying to learn?!
5 Simple Tips for Writing a Fan Letter in Korean
1. Use polite verb forms. Basically, Korean has two types of verb endings for polite speech style: 요(yo) and 다(da). When writing fan letters to celebrities, 요(yo) form is more appropriate than 다(da) form; 다(da) would sound too polite and formal for that kind of letter. 2. Use polite noun forms. In Korean, some nouns have entirely different forms for plain speech and honorific speech. To be polite, use 저(jeo) / 제(je) instead of 나(na) / 내(ne). 저(jeo) is the equivalent to ‘I, me’ in polite speech. 나(na) is the casual form of 저(jeo). 제(je) is the equivalent to ‘my’ in casual speech. 내(ne) is the casual form of 제(je). 3. But don’t be too formal and too polite. I’ve noticed that a lot of Korean learners tend to use the most polite noun forms when writing. Erring on the side of politeness is, of course, always good and safe, but in this fan letter, too-formal and too-polite nouns would sound a little awkward to native speakers (that is, the celebrities who will read your letter). Do not use 당신(dangshin). Instead, choose the right title for them, such as 오빠(oppa), 언니(unni), 누나(nuna), or 형(hyung), and use it. 4. Choose the perfect titles for celebrities. If the people you’re sending a letter to are older than you, you should use an appropriate title for them. There are four kinds of titles you would use. The most common titles are 오빠(oppa), 언니(unni), 누나(nuna), and 형(hyung). But what if you would be the same age as he/she? Adding the suffix씨 (ssi) to the name could be the appropriate solution in polite speech. When writing the letter with casual speech, you would attach 아 to the name ending in a consonant or 야 to the name ending with a vowel. In most cases, the given names are used with the titles we’ve just learned : First name + title. e.g. 세훈씨 Sehoon-ssi (from a male/female who is the same age as Sehoon in polite speech) 백현아 baekhyun-a (from a male/female who is the same age as Baekhyun in casual speech) 수호야 Suho-ya (from a male/female who is the same age as Suho in casual speech) 민호 오빠 Minho oppa (from a female younger than Minho) 티파니 누나 Tiffany nuna (from a male younger than Tiffany) 5. Attach 께 or 에게 to titles in the first sentence of a letter. The Korean equivalent of “to / dear” is “께(kke)” or “에게(ege)”. Though grammatically 께(kke) is the more honorific form than 에게(ege), there is no big difference between them. Just choose whichever you’d like to use. e.g. 중기 오빠께 / 중기 오빠에게 To Joongki oppa, Dear Joongki oppa (from a female younger than Joongki) Here is the entire example of a fan letter written in Korean. This letter was written to 송중기 (Joongki Song, a male Korean actor) by a younger female fan. For reference, I've made some blanks. You can freely adapt this template to suit your context, and fill in the blanks with the name of the celebrity you love! (중기 오빠)에게, To Joongki oppa, 안녕하세요. 저는 (싱가폴)에 살고 있는 (중기 오빠) 팬 (제시카)예요.
