How many of you spend too much time and resource on finding the right hair product? Not to mention, each hair product you purchase may be a hit or miss. One thing I learn is making my own hair product that suits my hair type. In addition, I get to control what is in the bottle (limiting the amount of unknown chemical placed on my hair).
Since I have fine hair, sometimes it difficult to give it volume without hair products. After trying numerous method and hairstyling products, volumizing powder is the best option for my hair type. It's lightweight weight, non-oily, and smells divine! Here's a natural volumizing recipe that can instantly give your hair extra volume to work with.
A little background on rosemary oil: This essential oil helps with dry, flaky scalp and also stimulates hair follicles which encourages hair growth and strengthens the hair shafts. This is oil is perfect for dry, frizzy hair!
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3-4 drops of rosemary essential oil
2 tablespoons rice flour or potato flour clean
An empty spice shaker
In a mixing bowl, combine the corn starch and rice flour and add 3-4 rosemary oil drops. Add the mixture to an empty spice shaker and sprinkle on to your roots for extra volume.
Love homemade products! Can't really trust those products sold in markets. Don't know what kind of chemicals they put in. Thanks!
I really love the smell of rosemary. Will have to try this since I have all the required items at home.
Does this have to be make with rosemary? I actually can't stand rosemary. For some reason, it's one of the spice smells that sort of makes me feel sick.
@caricakes I don't think the rosemary smell will be really obvious. I only smell it when the room humid.
This actually sounds like exactly what I need! Is the rosemary smell really obvious? I like rosemary so I don't mind I'm just curious :)
