Spoiler!!! This gif is really not giving you good advice (though you do deserve a day of treating yourself!) Here are five ways to boost your mood in a way that won't come tumbling town on you after you realize you just consumed "galloons of ice cream and pizza."

1. Surround yourself with good friends or family members.

As aware of it as you might be or not, your mood is a direct reflection of the people you are surrounded by. Fill your life with positive people and you will feel your energy turning in that direction to. It doesn’t matter who you choose to spend your time with, as long as it’s with people that serve to remind you how lucky you are to have a great support system whenever you need one.

2. Exercise.

No one’s telling you to run a marathon. Just do something to get your heart rate going. Not only does exercise naturally boost your mood, but it will also help distract you from what’s bothering you. (For right-now mood boosting, listen to the attached song and dance your heart out)

3. Watch a funny show or movie.

Put on something ridiculous that is guaranteed to make you laugh. After the first funny scene, I promise you’ll feel at least a tiny bit better than before. Try one of the attached clips :)

4. Write down at least 5 things that you are grateful for.

When we're down in the dumps it is easy to forget some really great things going on in our lives. It is so important to call on those things we are thankful for to get us back on our feet. If you find that a few of the things on your list are people instead of things - try giving those people a call or a text to say 'thanks for being in my life.'

5. Unplug. From everything.

Sometimes you just need a break from the emails, news feeds, and texts. Put your phone on airplane mode, remove yourself from your laptop, and space out. Taking time to enjoy yourself without clicking and scrolling can be a liberating experience. Give it a shot.
Not sure I'll be sky diving with my friends any time soon but they certainly are important to me!

Putting on your pajamas is a very important step towards happiness though!
Just reading this card made me feel better. I think that recognizing that you are in a bad mood is the first step to getting out of it!
I have begun practicing step 4 daily and it has made a huge difference when it comes to my outlook on life.
